School of Law hosts Brazilian legal officials for ADR exchange in Atlanta

The University of Georgia School of Law hosted legal officials and academics from Brazil at the State Bar of Georgia headquarters in Atlanta as part of an international exchange focused on alternate dispute resolution, according to a June 1 announcement. The visit was coordinated by Clinical Assistant Professor Rob McNiff and included meetings with alternate dispute resolution coordinators and judges in Gwinnett County.

This initiative is part of a partnership between the School of Law and the University of Rio de Janeiro. Former School of Law student Alexandre Jorge Fontes Laranjeira (LL.M.’23) also participated in the exchange program.

The University of Georgia School of Law supports experiential learning through 18 clinics and externships while promoting high graduate employment rates, maintains the Alexander Campbell King Law Library with extensive resources, excels in advocacy competitions with national and regional titles, serves a diverse student body with strong academic profiles, has been ranked No. 22 by U.S. News & World Report and recognized for value by National Jurist, and focuses on redefining excellence in national public legal education through superior teaching and community service, according to the official website.

The recent exchange underscores ongoing efforts to promote international collaboration within the field of alternate dispute resolution.
