Public ice-skating is returning to Akins Ford Arena at The Classic Center November 25, 2022. Volunteer with your organization at the skate rental counter and earn $1 per paid skater. The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is hosting an informational meeting and sign-ups in the Oconee River 1 Room at The Classic Center on Wednesday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m.
Last year, The Classic Center skate counter raised $31,000 for 24 nonprofits and community groups that volunteered their time during the public ice-skating season. Volunteers are responsible for distributing, cleaning, and restocking skates for each time slot the organization chooses to work.
Your organization’s members will have a blast while raising money for their philanthropies at the same time. Organizations in attendance at the informational meeting on October 26, will receive priority for selecting dates that evening. Any dates remaining after the informational meeting, will be on a first come, first served basis.
