PURSUANT TO O.C.G.A. Sec. 21-2-132, you are hereby notified that a Special Election will be held by the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 for the purpose of filling the vacancy in the office of the Commissioner for District 2.
You are further notified that qualifying for said office will open on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. and will continue daily from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM with said qualifying period ending on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at noon. Qualifying will be conducted in the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections Office, 155 East Washington Street, Athens, Georgia. The qualifying fee, as prescribed by law, will be required upon qualifying and is as follows:

This office will be elected to complete the unexpired four-year term for Commission District 2 that will end on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. A run-off, if necessary, will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
