A 2001 graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in speech and communications, Powell went on to earn his master’s degree in technology and human resource development at his alma mater in 2003. Powell played for Clemson from 1998-2000. He began his time with the Tigers as a team manager but later became a walk-on and eventually earned a scholarship.

Athletic Director Richard Ricketts explains that Powell is a great fit for the direction and strategy of the Prince Athletic Department. “Our emphasis now is on strengthening each of our existing programs including the sub-varsity and lower levels. A major part of this is placing the best possible coaches in each of our sports. Coach Powell is an experienced leader who desires to develop students in athletics and leadership.”
