The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2023 Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund. The Classic Center Cultural Foundation has raised money through the Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund to provide $25,000 to individuals interested in pursuing a career in hospitality, event, music, or sports management. The Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund allows the Cultural Foundation to provide this $25,000 in addition to the $30,000 awarded in the areas of hospitality, performing, and visual arts.

Applications for the Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund are open to anyone currently enrolled in hospitality industry programs at The University of Georgia and Athens Technical College. Graduating seniors of the Athens Community Career Academy are also encouraged to apply.

The Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund was established to honor Paul Martin and his lifelong contributions to Athens. He has always been a big supporter of the hospitality industry and the growth that it brings to the community. Paul Martin has been an essential part of the vision and establishment of the continuum of hospitality education, which meets individuals where they are in their career path to teach them the necessary skills to succeed in the hospitality industry. Paul Martin has also been a huge believer in both classroom curriculum and hands-on training and feels students receive the best education when these two tactics are combined.

Paul Martin was a member of The Classic Center Authority Board from 1996 to 2004. After serving on The Classic Center Authority Board, Paul Martin became a Board Emeritus member, a lifelong status. He is a gifted teacher with a love of sports and education. Paul Martin’s values of serving others through hospitality, teamwork, and servant-style leadership have helped shape The Classic Center into the place it is today.
