Watkinsville, GA Fifty of the top potters from across Georgia will display their work during Pottery Perspectives 2022, a huge exhibition and sale on view in the Oconee Cultural Art Foundation’s (OCAF) 1902 building from August 27 through September 11, 2022. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Pottery Perspectives 2022 is the 20th annual event that has lured collectors, art patrons and hundreds of others who simply love beautiful functional pottery.

Upwards of 4,000 pieces of pottery created by some of the most gifted ceramic artists in Georgia will be for sale.

On view in the Hall Gallery will be selections by Krista Grecco. Krista Grecco is a figurative sculptor working in porcelain. Her work has been published in American Craft, Ceramics Art and Perception, Ceramics: TECHNICALCAL, New Ceramics, and Ceramics Monthly.

On Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28, well-known potter Lora Rust will provide a hands-on workshop entitled “Pushing the Surface of Clay.” In the workshop, Lora will share her unique process of “pushing the clay” with her personally designed tools, in addition to sharing her growing expertise in surface design, glazing and various firing methods, particularly soda firing. The workshop is $200 for OCAF members, and $225 for non-members.

OCAF will host a Preview Night for the event on Friday, August 26, from 5 until 8 p.m. The cost is $20 per person at the door. During this event, shoppers will have the first opportunity to make their purchases before the sale is open to the public.

The 2022 Perspectives Committee members are:  Cyndee Perdue Moore (chair); Katie Hein, Patricia Jordan, Sarajane Love, Jim Norton, and Jamie Stewart.

“Perspectives was the event that drew me to OCAF when I first moved to Georgia, and I am honored to work alongside this year’s dedicated committee members to bring the event back for its 20th iteration,” says Committee Chair Cyndee Perdue Moore. “We look forward to hosting many returning potters and welcoming a number of new ones and cannot wait to open OCAF’s doors to the patrons who join us for this amazing celebration of Georgia potters and their work.”

Volunteers are needed for the event, and volunteers who work at least 10 hours will receive a discount on the items at the end of the exhibition. Please sign up at https://signup.com/go/RerUzow
