Nancy Hart Operation, LLC held the top spot as Elbert County’s largest nursing home in the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.
The facility maintained 67 available beds—five more than the Elbert County average at that time—and served an average of 62.1 residents throughout the period.
CMS gave Nancy Hart Operation, LLC an overall rating of 1 out of 5, which falls below the Georgia nursing home average rating of 2.7.
Heardmont Health and Rehabilitation and Pruitthealth – Spring Valley ranked as the second largest nursing homes in Elbert County, each with 60 beds during the first quarter of 2026.
During the same period, Nancy Hart Operation, LLC accumulated $30,309 in fines through five penalties.
Overall, Elbert County, Georgia, was home to three for-profit nursing homes.
Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show continued growth in the nation’s older adult population and declines among younger age groups. The population age 65 and older rose by 13% from 2020 through 2024, while the population under 18 decreased by 1.7%. The older adult demographic in the U.S. surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.
A 2021 study predicts that about half of the older age group—approximately 28 million people—will need long-term services and support, with more than a third projected to require nursing home care at some point.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
