Former Jefferson High School standout Taylor Spivey took the field with her college team, the Piedmont Lions, who were defeated 10-4 by the Mount St. Joseph Mountain Lions in their NCAA Division III softball matchup at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1.
The contest was held at Walker Athletic Complex and marked the second meeting between the teams this season. In their earlier game on Sunday, March 1, the Lions emerged with a 5-4 victory over the Mountain Lions.
Spivey gave up five earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched.
The Lions are set to face the Brevard Tornados in their next contest, scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, at 12 p.m. at Walker Athletic Complex.
