Mercy Health Center in Athens, Georgia, has announced the addition of Emma Carlson, FNP-BC, to its clinical team. Carlson joins as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Manager.
Emma Carlson began her healthcare career working as a Registered Nurse in clinics serving underserved communities. Reflecting on her experience, she said, “It is so humbling to be a part of helping the most vulnerable population right in our own country. There is such a need right here at home!”
Carlson holds a Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has worked in both primary and inpatient care settings and previously served in multi-site primary care roles. She was recognized with the DAISY Award for compassionate nursing care.
In her new role at Mercy Health Center, Carlson manages both patient care and clinical leadership responsibilities. As Clinical Manager, she supports quality and safety initiatives across departments while continuing to provide medical care focused on underserved populations.

Carlson added: “It is truly my greatest joy to care for people who are often forgotten. I believe that is what Jesus would do.”
