Lady Wolverines Are 2022 Softball Region Champions

0Comments

On Tuesday, October 11, the Prince Avenue Varsity Softball team defeated Jasper County in the 5-A Division 1 Region Championship to take home the trophy for the first time since 2015.

The girls have had a strong season with an overall record of 22-8 and a region record of 8-1. Varsity Softball’s first 14-0 victory against Jasper County was enough to secure the region title, but they swept the second Jasper game also for an even sweeter victory. The Region Championship title means Prince Avenue will host Super Regionals next week, and the Super Regional winner will enter the Elite 8 in Columbus for the state tournament. Prince Avenue is proud of these hard-working girls and looks forward to seeing their results in Super Regionals and the state tournament.

The Lady Wolverines will play Kings Ridge on Tuesday, October 18th at 12:00 pm in the first round of the Super Regional Tournament. If they win that game, they will play the next opponent at 4:00 pm. Come support the team and cheer them on!
