Jason Isbell, a six-time GRAMMY Award-winning musician, has announced a performance at The Classic Center Theatre in Athens, Georgia. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Isbell is known for his work as the founder of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. He has been recognized for his songwriting and ability to convey human emotions through music. According to the press release, “the North Alabama native possesses an incredible penchant for identifying and articulating some of the deepest, yet simplest, human emotions, and turning them into beautiful poetry through song. Isbell sings of the everyday human condition with thoughtful, heartfelt, and sometimes brutal honesty.”
Recently, Isbell released a solo album titled ‘Foxes in the Snow,’ recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. This project features only Isbell’s voice and acoustic guitar. Stereogum commented on the album: “the barebones intimacy recenters the artist behind the persona and serves as a reminder that this guy can write a damn song.”
In addition to his musical achievements, Isbell appeared in the Academy Award-nominated film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’
The Classic Center in Athens serves as a multi-use venue hosting conventions, conferences, meetings, weddings, concerts, sporting tournaments and other events. Its newly opened Akins Ford Arena increases its event capacity to over 8,000 attendees.
