The Jackson County School System has named finalists for its annual Teacher of the Year, Support Person of the Year, and Bus Driver of the Year awards. The district will announce the winners at a private banquet scheduled for Thursday, September 25.
Teacher of the Year finalists are Bucky Sorrow from East Jackson High School, Joshua Darnell from Empower College & Career Center, and Kristin Butkovich from Legacy Knoll Middle School.
Support Person of the Year finalists include Kara Mawdesley from East Jackson Elementary School, Haley Meier from Gum Springs Elementary School, and Jodi Sears from Heroes Elementary School.
The three bus drivers recognized as finalists are Scotty Beck, Rhonda Collins, and Brenda Neal.
