Jackson County High School senior Drake Cersey has been selected as a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual competition that recognizes high-achieving high school students and awards college scholarships. Students qualify for the program by taking the Preliminary SAT (PSAT). Out of more than 1.3 million eligible students, about 16,000 are named semifinalists each year, representing the highest-scoring entrants in their respective states.
