Drake Cersey, a student at Jackson County High School, has achieved the status of National Merit Scholarship Finalist. This recognition is part of a nationwide program that identifies and honors academically talented students.

To become a finalist, students are required to submit an application, maintain high academic performance, write an essay, receive endorsement and recommendation from their school principal, and achieve qualifying scores on the SAT or ACT exams that confirm their PSAT results. Those selected as finalists become eligible for National Merit Scholarships, which will be awarded starting in mid-March.
