Houston Gaines, a Republican member of the Georgia State House representing the 120th District since 2023, has made several public statements on social media regarding recent political developments in Georgia.
On November 4, 2025, Gaines urged Georgia voters to participate in the ongoing elections. He stated: “Get out there & vote, Georgia! Polls are open until 7 pm. Democrats are leading early voting by quite a bit in these statewide Public Service Commission races. If you want to stop the Green New Deal from coming to our state then go vote today.”
Later that day, he commented on the outcome of an election and expressed concern about the Democratic Party’s choice of candidate. On November 5, 2025, Gaines wrote: “The fact that Democrats voted for a guy who said he’d like to shoot his opponent & opponent’s children says a lot about the ‘party of decency’. Tonight is a sad statement about where we are just weeks after Charlie Kirk was assassinated.”
On November 7, 2025, Gaines addressed federal legislative matters and called on U.S. Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to act regarding government operations. He posted: “Senators Warnock & Ossoff need to do the right thing and get the government back open.
I was proud to join my colleagues in the State House & Senate demanding our Senators end the political games and put Georgia families first.”
Gaines has served as a state representative since succeeding Trey Rhodes in 2023.
