Houston Gaines, a Republican member of the Georgia State House representing the 120th District, recently shared a series of posts on his Twitter account covering local education initiatives, a tribute to a late colleague, and commentary on national and international issues.
On October 11, Gaines posted about his participation in Georgia Pre-K week, stating, “I had a blast reading to a few different Pre-K classes earlier this week in Clarke and Oconee counties to celebrate Georgia Pre-K week. It’s always one of my favorite stops each year. Thank you for having me!”
The following day, October 12, Gaines expressed condolences regarding the death of a fellow lawmaker: “I’m saddened to hear the news of Rep. Mandi Ballinger’s passing. She was a fierce advocate for the most vulnerable, particularly survivors of domestic violence. I’ve always admired her work & will cherish the opportunity to have called her a colleague and friend.
Please join me”
On October 13, Gaines commented on recent political developments and ongoing debates: “Now that Trump has delivered peace, the free Palestine crowd can return focus to cancelling Columbus Day & electing a Hamas sympathizer the Mayor of NYC.
A great day for the world and a happy Columbus Day!”
Gaines was elected in 2023 to represent Georgia’s 120th House District, succeeding Trey Rhodes. His recent posts reflect both his engagement with local community events in Clarke and Oconee counties as well as his views on broader political topics.
