Houston Gaines, a Republican member of the Georgia State House representing the 120th District since 2023, has recently used his social media platform to discuss legislative developments and political events.
On April 7, 2026, Gaines addressed property owners’ rights in relation to local government accountability. He wrote, “Local governments shouldn’t ignore the law and stick citizens with the bill. I joined @RealAmVoice to discuss HB 295—now passed by the House & Senate—giving property owners a path to recover losses when officials fail to act on homelessness or illegal immigration.”
The following day, on April 8, 2026, Gaines congratulated a fellow politician via social media: “Congratulations, @Clay4MainStreet! “
On April 9, 2026, he commented on a recent rally in Barrow County: “Incredible turnout in Barrow County for our rally with Congressman Jim Jordan! The 10th District showed up big. A special thanks to our amazing volunteers & the law enforcement officers who kept everyone safe. 41 days to victory “
Gaines was elected in 2023 after replacing former state representative Trey Rhodes as the representative for Georgia’s 120th House District.
