Houston Gaines, a Republican member of the Georgia State House representing the 120th District since 2023, recently shared updates on social media regarding local commemorations and campaign activities.
On September 12, 2025, Gaines expressed his appreciation for North Oconee’s annual tradition honoring the victims of September 11. He stated, “Thanks to North Oconee for continuing its tradition remembering the victims of 9/11 by placing 2,977 American flags on campus. It was a privilege to once again join these students yesterday to ensure the next generation never forgets that fateful day.”
The following day, September 13, he highlighted an initiative related to his congressional campaign and support from local artists. In his post, Gaines wrote, “Before we take on Tennessee this afternoon, check out this week’s sketch for @ThePMGN by @colecalfee that includes a “Gaines for Congress” fly over. Consider buying a print edition — Cole has offered to donate his proceeds to our campaign. Go Dawgs!”
Later that evening on September 14, Gaines shared a brief message in support of the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team: “GO DAWGS!”
Gaines was elected in 2023 to replace Trey Rhodes as state representative for Georgia’s 120th House District.
