Houston Gaines, a Republican member of the Georgia State House representing the 120th District since 2023, recently shared updates and reminders with his followers on social media regarding early voting and Halloween events in Statham.
On October 31, 2025, Gaines urged voters to participate in the final day of early voting for statewide public service commissioners. He emphasized the significance of these positions, stating in a post: “Today is the last day to vote early for our statewide elected public service commissioners who control our energy rates. It’s a scary thought, especially on Halloween, to let the Democrats control our power bills – GO VOTE TODAY for @timechols & @FriendsForFitz!”
Later that same day, Gaines highlighted local festivities in Statham by posting: “Statham is ready for Halloween — one of the best small town trick-or-treating there is! Hope to see you there “ on October 31, 2025.
Following the eventful evening, Gaines recapped the celebrations on November 1, 2025. He wrote: “A great night in Statham! Thousands — literally — of trick-or-treaters hit Broad Street. We had a blast handing out candy & seeing all the creative costumes.”
Gaines was elected to his current seat in 2023 after replacing former state representative Trey Rhodes. As a legislator from Georgia’s 120th House District, he frequently uses social media platforms to engage with constituents about civic participation and community events.
