Houston Gaines, a Republican elected to the Georgia State House in 2023 representing the 120th District, recently used his social media platform to announce key endorsements and address recent events impacting his community.

On August 5, Gaines posted: “I’m excited to begin rolling out some endorsements. We’ve got a lot of ‘em so stay tuned! Today I’m honored to share the support of the Sheriffs in Walton, Oconee & Barrow counties—the three largest Republican counties in the 10th. These guys are great leaders & great friends.”

A day later, on August 6, he responded to an incident involving Fort Stewart: “As we continue to learn more about this tragedy, our prayers are with the victims, their families, the men & women stationed at Fort Stewart, and all who serve our nation in uniform.”

Continuing his focus on endorsements on August 7, Gaines quoted Oconee County Sheriff James Hale’s public statement: “‘I know him to be a man of character and someone who does what he says he’ll do,’ Oconee County Sheriff James Hale said in a public statement. ‘He’ll continue to do that in Congress.’ Rep. Marcus Wiedower and Board of Commissioners Chairman John Daniell have also endorsed”.

Gaines succeeded Trey Rhodes as representative for Georgia’s 120th House District after winning election in 2023.
