Holiday crafts at Athens-Clarke County Library for adults and children in December

Looking for a way to relax this busy season? Stop by the Athens-Clarke County Library to enjoy holiday crafts! The library offers crafting opportunities for all ages throughout December.

The library’s children’s department hosts a “Holiday Crafts from Around the World” craft fair all month long. Each week, stop by the children’s area to make a new craft project and learn about other countries’ holiday traditions.

Reflecting, Sharing, Learning and Athens-Clarke County Library present a weekend of drop-in crafts for adults. Stop by between 12:30 and 5:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 10 or between 2:00 and 4:00 pm on Sunday, Dec. 11. All supplies and instructions will be provided for you to create a variety of holiday ornaments: miniature “knit” caps, snowflakes and yarn wreaths. It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind and create some fun decorations to spruce up your home or gift to a friend or loved one.

Later in the month, the library’s teen department will host the return of “Cozy Craft Night: Fiber Arts” on Tuesday, Dec. 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Teens and adults are invited to enjoy a cozy evening of warm drinks, snacks, and fun fiber arts. Bring your own project you’re currently working on, or start something new with the provide materials. Supplies will be provided for knitting, crochet, weaving and cross-stitch. We’ll even have a cozy roaring fire (on the TV)! All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experts.

The Athens-Clarke County Library is located at 2025 Baxter Street, Athens. For more information, call the library at 706-613-3650 or visit athenslibrary.org/Athens.
