Commissioner Amrey Harden and Commissioner Chuck Horton were sworn in at the first Board of Commissioners meeting of the year, on January 3, 2023, by Probate Court Judge Mike Hunsinger.

Commissioner Harden has served on the Board of Commissioners since he was elected in November 2020 to fill the unexpired term of the Post 3 position. An Oconee County native, Commissioner Harden is a past President and CEO of Oconee State Bank and a founding member of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. 

Commissioner Horton has served on the Board of Commissioners since 2016 when he was elected to finish the unexpired term of the Post 2 position. He also previously served two four-year terms on the BOC. Commissioner Horton is a long-time Oconee County resident who served as the Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police for the University of Georgia Police Department until his retirement in 2004.
