Gum Springs Elementary School has been recognized as a K-Kids Distinguished Club by Kiwanis International for the 2025-26 school year, according to a May 20 announcement. The honor places Gum Springs Elementary’s K-Kids Club among just 21 clubs in the United States to receive this distinction.

The recognition highlights the school’s commitment to service and leadership at an early age. The K-Kids Club is a program designed for elementary-aged students, providing opportunities for members to improve their school and local communities through acts of service.

This is not the first time Gum Springs Elementary has received this honor, as it was also recognized following the previous school year. The continued achievement reflects broader efforts within the Jackson County School System, which excels in academics, arts, and athletics while contributing to well-rounded student development and community growth, according to the official website.

The Jackson County School System operates educational facilities across seven elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and a career center in Jackson County. It serves more than 11,200 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade with programs that foster academic success as well as cultural and social development. The district has also earned recognition as a Top Workplace by major publications such as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and USA Today, according to the official website.

Looking ahead, Gum Springs Elementary’s repeated distinction may encourage other clubs within the district to pursue similar achievements in service leadership.
