Newly passed bill authored by State Rep. Houston Gaines seeks to revise procedures for filling vacancies on the Jackson County board of commissioners, following approval in both the House and Senate, according to the Georgia State House.

It passed both chambers as of Wednesday, April 2, clearing the House by a vote of 165-0 and the Senate by a vote of 51-0.
