Elizabeth Chamblee Burch, who holds the Callaway Chair at the University of Georgia School of Law, was featured in an article on Law.com discussing the role judges play in appointing leadership for multidistrict litigation (MDL) trials. The article, titled “A ‘Chilling Effect’? Lawyers of Color Lose Leadership Gaines in Multidistrict Litigation,” was written by Amanda Bronstad and published on October 7, 2025.

Burch’s insights contributed to a broader conversation about diversity and representation among lawyers selected for leadership positions in MDLs.
