Titus Tolbert, a student at East Jackson High School, was named a finalist for the Governor’s Honors Program on April 28. Tolbert, who was initially listed as an alternate, will now participate in the summer program at Georgia Southern University where he will study Music – Voice.
The Governor’s Honors Program is a four-week residential experience for rising juniors and seniors that offers academic, cultural, and social enrichment beyond traditional high school instruction. The program aims to develop global thinkers and leaders among Georgia students.
Selection as a finalist is highly competitive. Of approximately 250,000 eligible students across the state, only about 0.264 percent are chosen each year for this honor.
