The Dougherty Street Government Building at 120 W. Dougherty Street will be closed on Friday, October 3, as work continues to replace the building’s roof.

Departments located in the building—including Planning, Building Permits & Inspections, and several divisions of Transportation & Public Works—will not be open for in-person services during the closure. However, these departments will continue to provide some services remotely through email or telephone.

Because of the closure, the deadline for submissions to the Planning Department for consideration at the November Planning Commission meeting has been extended to Monday, October 6. Other deadlines that were set for October 3 with departments housed in this building are also being moved to October 6.

Departments affected by the closure will share more details about available remote services on their respective webpages: www.accgov.com/planning (Planning), www.accgov.com/buildinginspections (Building Permits & Inspections), and www.accgov.com/publicworks (Transportation & Public Works). These sites include contact information for general department inquiries as well as specific staff members.

The government building and its departments are expected to reopen for normal business hours on Monday, October 6.
