The Dougherty Street Government Building, located at 120 W. Dougherty Street, will be closed to most in-person services from Monday, October 20 through Friday, October 24 due to ongoing roof replacement work.

Departments and divisions affected by the closure include Planning, Building Permits & Inspections, and Transportation & Public Works’ Administrative, Engineering, and Stormwater Divisions. While these offices will not be accessible for walk-in visits during this period, some services will continue remotely via email or telephone.

Offices of the Transportation and Public Works Department situated on the lowest level of the building—which are accessible only from the backside—will reopen for in-person business on October 23-24. This includes Administration, Engineering, and non-billing Stormwater Division offices. However, upstairs offices will remain closed until the end of the week.

The Building Permits and Inspections Department will not issue permits or Certificates of Occupancy during this closure. Requests for next-day inspections should still be made by phone before 4:00 PM each day.

The closure of Planning Department offices does not impact the deadline for plans review submissions on Friday. All such submittals are processed digitally through an online portal.

Further details about remote services can be found on departmental webpages: www.accgov.com/planning (Planning), www.accgov.com/buildinginspections (Building Permits & Inspections), and www.accgov.com/publicworks (Transportation & Public Works). These pages also provide contact information for staff members.

Normal operations for all departments are expected to resume when the building reopens on Monday, October 27.
