COUNTY OF OCONEE: Oconee BOC Seeks Applicants for Citizen Advisory Boards

County of Oconee issued the following announcement on Apr. 11. 

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizen applicants for appointments to the following: 

Oconee County Animal Services Advisory Board:  Two appointments to begin July 1, 2022 and expire June 30, 2024. Members advise, assist, and provide general policy oversight to the Animal Services program. Meetings are held in January, April, July, and October at a time, date, and place established by the Advisory Board.

Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission:  Two appointments to begin July 1, 2022 and expire on June 30, 2024. Three appointments to begin July 1, 2022 and expire June 30, 2023.  On application, please indicate if you are applying for one or two year term. The Commission is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful dedicated to increasing environmental stewardship among Oconee citizens.  Meetings are held bi- monthly on the second Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Oconee Government Annex at 1291 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville.

Family and Children Services:  One appointment to begin July 1, 2022 for a five-year term  to expire June 30, 2027.  Members advise and assist the Division of Family and Children Services (DFACS) and act as liaison to the public.  Meetings are held bi-monthly  (January, March, May, July, September and November) on the third Thursday at 3:00 pm at the Oconee County DFACS Office, 1400 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville. 

Tourism and Visitors Bureau:   Three appointments to begin July 1, 2022 and expire on June 30, 2024. Members of this Board will assist the Bureau with guidance and direction and oversee the operations of the Bureau.  The meetings will be held at the Oconee State Bank Operations Center, Watkinsville on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm.
