In the 2024-25 school year, Bramlett Elementary School registered 175 Hispanic students, representing an 8.7% rise over the prior year, reports the Georgia Department of Education.
Out of a total 604 students enrolled for 2024-25, data showed Hispanic students accounted for 29% of Bramlett Elementary’s enrollment, making them the school’s second largest student group.
The school operates under the Barrow County School District, and the district’s central office is based in Winder.
Of Barrow County School District’s 16 campuses, Apalachee High School reported the highest Hispanic student enrollment for 2024-25, counting 593 students in this group.
Georgia’s public school enrollment surpassed 1.7 million students, per the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 figures. Elementary grades had the highest enrollment with 787,206 students (45.9%), trailed by middle schools with 388,733 students (22.7%), and high schools with 539,092 students (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism remains a notable issue in Georgia’s schools since the pandemic, with 20.7% of students absent at least 10% of days in 2024, according to education department data. To counter this, the GaDOE introduced a statewide initiative offering a real-time attendance dashboard, public outreach campaigns, and targeted support in districts with the greatest need.
For 2025, state lawmakers revised attendance laws to prohibit expulsion based solely on absenteeism. New reporting rules were added, and requirements now align with state programs that help students earn degrees through other pathways.
By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was around 14:1, which compares favorably to the national ratio of 15:1.
