Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical will be performed at The Classic Center Theatre in Athens, Georgia, for one night only on May 15, according to a March 11 announcement. Tickets are set to go on sale starting Friday, March 13, at 10:00 a.m. through ClassicCenter.com.

The production features music by Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf and includes an eight-piece rock band alongside a cast of singers, dancers, and actors. Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical has received several accolades, including the UK’s Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical at the Evening Standard Awards and nominations for eight London WhatsOnStage Awards. It has previously been staged in venues such as Manchester Opera House, London Coliseum, Toronto’s CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre, and New York City Center.

Critical reception has been positive. The New York Times described the show as “extravagant, absurd, compulsively hummable,” while Theatermania said “See it while you can.” The musical has also had successful runs in Canada, Germany, Las Vegas, and toured internationally across the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

The stage adaptation incorporates songs from the Bat Out of Hell albums such as “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth,” “I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” “It’s All Coming Back to Me,” and others. The story follows characters Raven and Strat as their relationship challenges their families amid conflict in a dystopian city.

The creative team includes director Jay Scheib; musical supervision by Michael Reed; US music direction by Greg Paladino; choreography by Xena Gusthart; set and costume design by Jon Bausor; video design by Finn Ross; lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe; sound design by Gareth Owen; orchestrations by Steve Sidwell; casting by David Grindrod CDG and Kinlore Casting – Kate Lumpkin CSA; associate direction by Tiernan Tunnicliffe; general management by Evan Bernardin Productions – Jenna Lazar. Canadian and US dates are produced by Michael Cohl of S2BN Entertainment with Tony Smith & David Sonenberg.

The Classic Center is described as a multi-use conference center and performing arts theatre that hosts various events including conventions, concerts, sporting tournaments and special occasions.
