Athens Transit will implement service changes on June 4, according to an announcement on May 26. Riders are advised to expect minor time adjustments across the system, along with more significant modifications to certain routes.
Minor time adjustments will affect Routes 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27 and 30. In addition to these changes, Routes 12 and 14 will begin service at 6:45 a.m. and operate every thirty minutes at :15 and :45 past each hour. Route 22 is scheduled to start thirty minutes earlier at 5:45 a.m., shifting all stops for that route by approximately half an hour.
Riders are reminded that in order to increase service efficiency, several buses serve more than one route and may change routes at the end of each trip. Passengers are encouraged to check with bus operators if they have questions before departure. Updated schedules will be available for review during the week of May 26.
The City of Athens operates as a consolidated city-county government providing unified public services across Athens and Clarke County in Georgia; it manages facilities including restored historic sites such as the Morton Theatre and delivers municipal services such as parks management and community programs, according to the official website.
“Thank you for riding Athens Transit,” officials said in their statement.
