Athens Retina Center PC Welcomes Dr. Carroll

Dr. Carroll is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery.  Dr. Carroll is originally from South Georgia and joined Athens Retina Center in 2022. He is on staff at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
 
Dr. Carroll graduated summa cum laude with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Biology from the University of Georgia. He graduated with a medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He went on to complete his Transitional Year internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Dr. Carroll then completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Emory Eye Center and then completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases surgery at Northwestern University.
 
Dr. Carroll and his wife Salliann are avid Georgia Bulldogs fans. His personal interests include record collecting, cycling, and bonsai.
