The Housing and Community Development Department announced on April 9 that it is seeking public input on a proposed amendment to the HOME-ARP Allocation Plan, which was first adopted by the Mayor and Commission and accepted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2023.
The allocation plan determines how nearly $2.5 million in federal funding will be used to benefit homeless and qualifying populations, mainly through housing and related services. Residents are encouraged to review the proposed changes between April 5 and May 5, either online at www.accgov.com/hcd or in person at designated locations.
Hard copies of the draft amendment can be found at the HCD office at 133 East Washington Street or at the East Athens Development Corporation during regular business hours. Comments may be submitted via email, mail, or delivered in person. The Mayor and Commission will also receive feedback during their Regular Session scheduled for May 5 at City Hall.
All comments received during this period will be considered for inclusion in a summary that accompanies the final amendment submission to HUD. For questions or special assistance, residents are directed to contact HCD staff by phone.
