Athens-Clarke County sets schedule for absentee ballot processing and tabulation

The Athens-Clarke County Elections Department has announced that it will begin processing absentee ballots for the December 9, 2025 Special Election at 5:30 PM on election day. The process will continue until all ballots are processed.

According to state law, specifically O.C.G.A. ยง 21-2-386(a)(2)(A), this step is part of the required procedure for handling absentee ballots in Georgia. In addition, early tabulation of these absentee ballots will also start at 5:30 PM on December 9. Tabulation of advance votes cast during the early voting period is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM on the same day.

Both the processing and tabulation activities will be conducted at the Athens-Clarke County Facilities Management Building located at 2555 Lexington Road in Athens, Georgia.
