Athens Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 23. 

Elaine Cook is the recipient of the 2022 Fosky Henderson Community Service Award presented by the Athens Athletic Hall of Fame.

Fosky Henderson was the wife of legendary Athens coach, Billy Henderson.  She was a homemaker and member of the Beech Haven Baptist Church.  Fosky passed away in February 2010 but is remembered as a child of mercy and grace.  She devoted her life to caring for others. 

Elaine is currently the Director of Major Gifts at Piedmont Athens Regional.  During her tenure at the hospital, she was worked in marketing, public relations, community relations, and philanthropy.  Elaine has a long history of community service working with organizations such as the Athens-Area Chamber of Commerce, LEAD Athens, the United Way of Northeast Georgia, the Athens Rotary Club, the American Heart Association, the Athens-Clarke Career Academy, and the Athens Symphony.

She has been honored with the International Athena Award, Athens-Area Chamber Champion of the Year, and the Woman of Distinction from the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.
